Convergencia digital en el paraíso tecnológico : claroscuros de una revolución

Abstract

Los autores analizan el grado de desarrollo, en la realidad, de la convergencia digital en el campo audiovisual, partiendo del estado actual de las infraestructuras tecnológicas y servicios implementados en el mercado norteamericano, líder mundial indiscutible. Aceptada la magnitud de la revolución tecnológica en curso, se analizan los desafíos generados por y para su implantación en los distintos ámbitos implicados. Se identifican las diferentes aplicaciones y los frenos a su generalización, así como las estrategias de los principales actores involucrados. A la luz de este diagnóstico, se identifican los principales interrogantes y se plantean los problemas a los que hay que hacer frente para jugar un papel activo en la configuración final de los resultados de esta revolución.The authors analyze the development degree, in the reality, of the digital convergence in the audio-visual field, in base of the present state of technological infrastructures and services implemented in the North American market, unquestionable world-wide leader. Accepted the magnitude of the technological revolution in progress, the challenges generated by and for their implantation are analyzed in the different implied scopes. The different applications and the brakes from their generalization, as well as the strategies of the main involved actors are identified. After carrying out this diagnosis, the identified problems allow to play an active role in the final configuration of this revolution
