L'objectiu d'aquest article és analitzar el tractament dels referents culturals en la traducció catalana de la novel·la Gabriela, cravo e canela de l'autor brasiler Jorge Amado. En primer lloc, hem elaborat una tipologia d'àmbits de classificació de les marques culturals que resultàs operativa en el nostre estudi; en segon lloc, hem analitzat i classificat, seguint aquesta tipologia, les marques culturals detectades en l'obra i, a partir d'alguns exemples il·lustratius, hem descrit el resultat que es produeix en el text català i les tècniques de traducció que s'hi apliquen.The article analyses cultural markers in the Catalan translation of the novel Gabriela, cravo e canela by the Brazilian writer Jorge Amado. A typology of possible groupings of cultural markers is firstly analysed -which will be operative in the study. Following this typology the article then analyses the cultural markers found in the book. And finally, through some examples from the Catalan translation, a description of the translation is offered taking into consideration translation techniques
