By means of research carried out in a number of musical archives, the writer questions ihe authorship of certain works attributed to J.Haydn. He pays particular attention to The Seven Words of Christ on the Cross, putting Haydnls authorship of this piece in doubt. The writer also aims at re-situating, within the contemporary Germanic context, the 1arg1:ly unknown figure of the composer A.Luchesi. Professor Taboga offers various hypothe ses and conjectures, sustained by a detailed and methodical body of work. Each step of :lis argument is carefully maintained within reasoned scientific logic, shaped by the contribution of highly pertinent documented material.
