Retórica imperial : el rapto en la legislación de Constantino

Abstract

This article is a survey on the crime of abduction in Constantine's legislation. The author states that the severe penalties of his law (C. Th. 9. 24. 1) hide a keen message, namely the prohibition of a mixed marriage between a jew and a christian. Based on the language of some other laws and some church canons which forbide such a mixed unions, the author sees an identity between the key words feralis secta and Iudaeos
