L'article defensa el plantejament que la comunicació construeix el centre cabdal de l'an-tropologia: qualsevol forma de presència de l'ésser humà en el món instaura un procés comunicatiu. El temps, l'espai, el sexe i les condicions psicològiques dels individus, entre d'altres, són variables històriques, condicionants i determinants alhora, de la comunicació humana. En néixer, l'ésser es troba totalment immergit en la natura i, alhora, separat de la cultura (i de l'alteritat). Mitjançant la comunicació que li posaran a l'abast de la mà les «estructures d'acollida», emprendrà la llarga marxa de distanciament respecte de la natura i d'apropament respecte de la cultura. Afirmar que l'esser humà és la seva cultura equival a dir que, per a bé o per a mal, la comunicació relacional és el seu constitutiu essencial.The article puts forward the argument that communication is the real centre of anthro-pology: any form of human presence in the world initiates a communicative process. Time, space, the sex and psychological condition of the individuals, among others, are historical variables, which both condition and determine human communication. At birth, a human being is totally immersed in nature and, at the same time, separated from culture (and otherness). Via the communication which puts at his disposal the «welcoming structures», he will being the long journey that distances him from nature and bring him closer to culture. To say that human beings are their own culture, is to say that, for better or for worse, relational communication constitutes their essence
