Background : Knowledge workers of personal protective equipment (PPE) will
affect the behavior in the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) when
working in full. Objective to determine and assess the correlation between
knowledge workers of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for use in the CV.
Unggul Farm Nguter.
Methods : This study used a type of observational analytic study using cross-
sectional approach. The sampling technique used is total sampling. The object of
the study sample were 30. Data were collected by using a questionnaire to
determine the characteristics of the respondents, measuring the level of worker
knowledge about personal protective equipment (PPE) and use of personal
protective equipment (PPE). Processing techniques and data analysis was done by
chi-square statistical test using the computer program SPSS version 16.0.
Results : Respondents who have a good knowledge about the use of PPE and PPE
as many as 9 people (30.0%), have a good knowledge about PPE and PPE does
not use as many as 12 people (40.0%), while respondents who had poor
knowledge of PPE and do not use PPE as many as 9 people (30.0%). From the
analysis of the chi square test is known that significant values. Amounted to
0,029, or less than 0.05 (p <0.05) and r = 0, 394 <0.40. So, there is a significant
relationship between the level of knowledge about the workers personal protective
equipment (PPE) for use at the CV. Unggul Farm Nguter in 2013.
Conclusion: There is a correlation between knowledge workers of personal
protective equipment (PPE) for use in the CV. Unggul Farm Nguter for p: 0.029

Latar Belakang : Pengetahuan pekerja tentang alat pelindung diri (APD) akan
berpengaruh terhadap perilakunya dalam menggunakan alat pelindung diri (APD)
secara lengkap pada saat bekerja. Tujuan penelitian untuk mengetahui dan
mengkaji hubungan tingkat pengetahuan pekerja tentang Alat Pelindung Diri
(APD) terhadap penggunaannya di CV. Unggul Farm Nguter.
Metode : Penelitian ini menggunakan jenis penelitian observational analitik
menggunakan pendekatan cross sectional. Teknik sampling yang digunakan
adalah total sampling. Sampel yang menjadi objek penelitian berjumlah 30 orang.
Pengambilan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner untuk mengetahui
karakteristik responden, mengukur tingkat pengetahuan pekerja tentang alat
pelindung diri (APD) dan penggunaan alat pelindung diri (APD). Teknik
pengolahan dan analisis data dilakukan dengan uji statistic chi square dengan
menggunakan program computer SPSS versi 16.0.
Hasil : Responden yang mempunyai pengetahuan baik tentang APD dan
menggunakan APD sebanyak 9 orang (30,0%), mempunyai pengetahuan baik
tentang APD dan tidak menggunakan APD sebanyak 12 orang (40,0%),
sedangkan responden yang mempunyai pengetahuan buruk tentang APD dan tidak
menggunakan APD sebanyak 9 orang (30,0%). Dari hasil analisis dengan uji chi
square diketahui bahwa nilai signifikan. Sebesar 0,029 atau lebih kecil dari 0,05
(p < 0,05) dan nilai r = 0, 394 < 0,40. Sehingga, ada hubungan yang signifikan
antara tingkat pengetahuan pekerja tentang alat pelindung diri (APD) dengan
penggunaannya di CV. Unggul Farm Nguter tahun 2013.
Simpulan : Ada hubungan tingkat pengetahuan pekerja tentang alat pelindung diri
(APD) terhadap penggunaannya di CV. Unggul Farm Nguter sebesar p : 0,029
