AAS21-05 会場:201B 時間:5月 22日 09:30-09:45地球温暖化に対する海洋生態系によるフィードバックの将来予測に関わる潜在的な不確実性Underlying uncertainty in future projection of marine ecosystem feedbacks to climatechange伊藤彰記 1¤, KOK, Jasper F.2, FENG, Yan3, PENNER, Joyce E.4ITO, Akinori1¤, KOK, Jasper F.2, FENG, Yan3, PENNER, Joyce E.41 海洋研究開発機構, 2 コーネル大学, 3 アルゴンヌ国立研究所, 4 ミシガン大学1JAMSTEC, 2Cornell University, 3Argonne National Laboratories, 4University of Michigan海洋への鉄供給量の見積もりに関わる不確実性は海洋生態系による大気中二酸化炭素吸収量の算出に多大な不確実性をもたらす。従って、二酸化炭素濃度の数値予測に伴う不確実性を減らし、地球環境変化をより正確に予測するためには、海洋への鉄供給量の時空間分布をより正確に予測することが重要となる。本研究では、全球化学輸送モデルを用いて、ダスト発生量の算出時に用いられる粒径分布の違いが乾燥地から海洋へ供給される可溶性鉄供給量の算出値に与える影響に関して議論した。標準実験では、ダスト発生時に用いられる粒径分布として理論上の算出値を用いた。感度実験では、全球エアロゾル輸送モデルで幅広く仮定されている粒径分布を用いた。数値実験ではエアロゾルの光学的深さを用いて、ダスト発生量を調整した。理論上の算出値を適用した場合に計算される全球のダスト発生量はエアロゾルモデルで仮定されている粒径分布を用いた場合の平均値と比較して 2倍程度に算出された。エアロゾルの光学的深さを用いて、ダストの発生量を調整したため、微小粒子側のダスト発生量はどの粒径分布を用いても比較的一定の値に算出された。大気汚染の影響を強く受ける地域において、微小粒子中の鉄は酸による変質を受けやすい。そのため、微小粒子が粗大粒子と比べて可溶性鉄の主要な供給源となり、可溶性鉄供給量の算出値はどの粒径分布を用いても比較的一定の値に算出された。一方、大気汚染の影響の少ない地域において、微小粒子中の鉄は酸による変質を受けにくい。そのため、南米砂漠の風下に当たる南大西洋では粗大粒子が微小粒子と比べて可溶性鉄の主要な供給源となり、粒径分布の理論値を適用した場合に計算される可溶性鉄供給量の算出値はエアロゾルモデルで仮定されている粒径分布を用いた場合の値と比較して 1.2から 5倍程度に算出された。これらの結果から、ダスト発生時の粒径分布の不確実性が地球温暖化に対する海洋生態系によるフィードバックの将来予測に関わる潜在的な不確実性をもたらすことが示唆された。今後、ダストの粒径分布を改善することが重要である。キーワード:鉱物エアロゾル,大気化学輸送モデル,可溶性鉄供給量,粒径分布,大気汚染,地球温暖化Keywords: mineral aerosol, atmospheric chemical transport model, soluble iron supply, size distribution, air pollutant, climatechange1/1AAS21-05 Room:201B Time:May 22 09:30-09:45Underlying uncertainty in future projection of marine ecosystem feedbacks to climatechangeITO, Akinori1¤, KOK, Jasper F.2, FENG, Yan3, PENNER, Joyce E.41JAMSTEC, 2Cornell University, 3Argonne National Laboratories, 4University of MichiganIt is widely recognized that uncertainty in the deposition flux of bioavailable iron to the ocean is large and that the valueassumed can influence the air-sea carbon dioxide fluxes and thus radiative forcing significantly. Global models have been used todeduce atmospheric iron supply to the ocean, but uncertainty in the deposition flux remains large, in part because of uncertaintyin the size distribution of mineral aerosols. We used a global chemical transport model to investigate the effect of the estimatedsize distribution of dust on the bioavailable iron deposition. Simulations are performed with six different size distributions fordust aerosols at emission using similar aerosol optical depths (AODs) to constrain the total emission flux of dust. The globaldust emission rate using a recent theoretical estimate for the dust size distribution at emission is about two times larger thanthe average of estimates using the other four empirical size distributions. In contrast to the large differences in total emissions,the dust emission of fine particles is relatively robust, due to the strong constraint of AOD on clay emission. Our model resultsindicate that soluble iron (SFe) deposition is relatively invariant to the dust size distribution at emission in significant portionsof the open ocean, where fine particles play a dominant role in soluble iron supply. In contrast, the use of the theoretical sizedistribution suggests a larger deposition of SFe (by a factor of 1.2 to 5) in the South Atlantic.
