Taking stock of organization and performance in the public sector

Abstract

To deepen our understanding of the publicness-performance relationship, the paper combines and integrates two conceptual models. This qualitative research seeks to cast light on two categories of organizational variables that act as performance moderators, i.e., agency-level factors and individual-level factors, by selectively reviewing academic studies on the performance of public services.
