On the determination of the thermal neutron flux density by the measurement of the activity ratio Au-199/Au-198

Abstract

The possibility to measure the flux of thermal neutrons by activation of gold of unknown weight using the counts of both 199Au and 198Au gamma emission was studied. It can be used for impure gold monitors or when the activated sample has gold in it. The possible interferences are discussed
