William E. Forsthoffer  is now approaching his 50th year of experience in the field of Rotating Equipment. He has 
spent 13 years at Delaval on the test floor and as a Compressor Designer (all components and systems) and 17 years 
at Exxon/Mobil where he was involved with Rotating Equipment Selection, Design, Testing and Start-Up for many 
different Petrochemical Plants throughout the world.  He is currently the owner/President of Forsthoffer 
Associates, Inc. which specializes in selection, troubleshooting, and training in the field of rotating equipment 
worldwide. 
 
 
Michael Forsthoffer has over 15 years of experience in the field of Turbomachinery, including field troubleshooting 
and consulting.  He spent 4 years with John Crane, 3 of which consisted of being the on-site Seal Realiability 
Engineer at Hovensa Refinery, St. Croix, VI.  He is currently working as a Rotating Equipment Specialist for 
Forsthoffer Associates, Inc. and has been involved in projects, troubleshooting and training worldwide. 
 
 
Hussain Al-Baloshi graduated from Oxford Air Training College in 1990 as licensed Aeronautical Engineer, also 
received his MSc in Engineering Management from the University of Huddersfield in 2011. He has over 20 years 
experience in Turbomachinery and Condition Monitoring.  
Currently, he holds the position of Head of Reliability with Offshore Operations at Qatar Petroleum. Hussain is also 
the Chairman for the Qatar Reliability Forum. 
 
 
 
Chris Holt is the Lead Rotating Equipment Engineer for Qatargas. He earned a BS in mechanical engineering from 
Louisiana Tech University and an MS in mechanical engineering from Texas A&M University. Chris is an employee of 
ExxonMobil and presently seconded to joint venture Qatargas. He has authored or coauthored a few papers on the 
subject of rotordynamics. Mr. Holt holds three patents in the area of LNG machinery and has worked as a 
machinery engineer in the disk drive, rotary UPS, and oil and gas industries.
