Por su formación intelectual y recorrido biográfico, el Inca Garcilaso fue un mestizo
privilegiado. En este texto trataremos de configurar la idea del otro que el autor cuzqueño
construye en su discurso; ese otro se relaciona por un lado con el indio americano, pero
también con la figura de la mujer, tanto europea como indígena. Así, basándonos en las
ideas de Silvia Federici y Rita Segato, estableceremos la mirada de género como un punto de
partida para analizar las lecturas que ayudaron a Garcilaso a construir su discurso sobre el
otro en La Florida del Inca.Given his intellectual training and biographical itinerary, Inca Garcilaso was a privileged
mestizo. This text aims to define the idea of the ‘other’ built in Garcilaso’s discourse. On one
hand, that ‘other’ is related to the Amerindian, but on the other hand it is strongly related to
the female figure, either European or Indigenous. Following Silvia Federici and Rita Segato’s
studies on gender, I will focus on the readings that led Garcilaso to build his ideas about the
‘other’ in La Florida del Inca
