The aims of this research are to analyze performance and role of agricultural sector and
subsector in economic development of Blora regency. This research used secondary data. The
analysis method are descriptive and Klassen Typology Approach. The results of this research
shows that performance of the agricultural sector in Blora regency during the 2005-2009 views
that agricultural sector gives the largest average contribution (53.99%) among other economic
sectors, but the growth rate ranks seventh among nine economic sectors in Blora regency with an
average growth rate of 4.26%. Contributions and the growth rate of agricultural subsectors are
volatile. Food crops subsector has the largest an average contribution and growth rate among
other agricultural subsectors. Fisheries subsektor has the smallest average contribution and the
livestock subsector has the smallest an average growth rate. Based on Typology Klassen Approach,
it is known that the agricultural sector, crops subsector, livestock subsector, and forestry subsector
play a role as sector/subsector potential. Food crops subsector role as prime subsector, while the
fisheries subsector role as a retarded subsector
