Traffic Accident’s Model, Interaction Among The Driver – Vehicle – Carriageway Width in Highway Geometric Design’s Consistency

Abstract

Highways as a transportations infrastructure have an important role to sustainability of transportation activity, many research abroad produce the models inform that when consistency of geometric design concerned so the traffic safety will be raise. The object of this research is to identify of inconsistency of alignment’s design at black-spot located in curve and developed the model which tell the relation of one of geometric design’s consistency is horizontal alignment and speed operational with traffic accident rate. The model means more appropriate for street condition and speed operation of vehicle in Indonesia. Secondary data acquisition of accident will be evaluated for horizontal alignment condition at black spot point of view. Running speed as a dependent variable, the degree of curvature as an independent variable. Result indicate the relation : Motor Cycle = 70.320 ( ), Light Vehicle = 67.121 ( ) and Heavy Vehicle = 50.790 ( ). The model inform opposed among operation speed and degree of curvature, means high operation speed caused the rate of degree of curvature low or choice of curve’s radius is magnitude, this values consistent for all the modal. This result also inform the behavior motor cyclist easy more maneuver such the condition of street’s geometric
