Preschool education student`s optimism and self-efficacy

Abstract

Optimizam i samoefikasnost kao osobine ličnosti povezane su s postignućima pojedinca. Optimistični pojedinci s visokom samoefikasnošću imat će samopouzdanja u svoje sposobnosti, postavljat će si ciljeve koji će im biti izazov, a na putu do cilja bit će ustrajni i u slučaju neuspjeha kojeg će smatrati privremenim, specifičnim i neće ga pripisati osobnim, nepromjenjivim karakteristikama. Takvi pojedinci imaju manju tendenciju k anksioznosti i depresiji. Cilj je ovog istraživanja ispitati optimističnost stila objašnjavanja neuspjeha i samoefikasnost 120 studenata Ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja, povezanost između dimenzija stila objašnjavanja te povezanost dimenzija stabilnosti, globalnosti i internalnosti sa samoefikasnošću. Rezultati su pokazali da su studenti visoko na dimenziji internalnosti, ali nisko na dimenziji globalnosti. Također, percepcija studenata o njihovoj samoefikasnosti pokazala se visokom.There is a relationship between optimism and self-efficacy as personality traits and one's achievement. Optimistic individuals with high self-efficacy will have the confidence in their abilities, they will aim for challenging goals, and be persistent even when confronted with adversity. They will see adversity as something temporary, specific and they won't attribute failure to their own personal characteristics. Also they are less likely to have anxiety or become depressed. The aim oft his study was to test 120 preschool education students' optimism when confronted with adversity, self-efficacy, correlation between the attrubutional dimensions and relationship between dimensions and self-efficacy. Results show that students are high on the internality dimension, but low on the globality dimension. Also, students' self-efficacy perception is high
