Abstract
Mediante esta comunicación se pretende analizar cómo se ha estudiado la apariencia y moda
femenina a lo largo de la historia, qué metodologías han marcado los avances en este campo y
cómo ha evolucionado el uso de las fuentes para reconstruir la historia de la moda.
A lo largo de la propuesta se explicará cómo se ha aplicado esta metodología a un caso
concreto: la moda que surge en España a mediados del siglo XVIII. Este nuevo estilo
denominado majismo afecta al discurso impuesto y a la concepción que se tenía de la feminidad
en el Antiguo Régimen.
Se describirán las perspectivas de análisis utilizadas, el tipo de fuentes que nos permite avanzar
en este estudio de la moda, las limitaciones y problemáticas que supone la investigación y las
aportaciones o resultados que se han obtenido mediante el estudio.Through this paper is pretended to analyze how it is studied the appearance and female fashion
along the history, which methods marked the advance in this field and how have developed the
use of sources to rebuilt fashion history.
Along the proposal it is explained how had applied this methodology in a concrete case: a fashion
spread in Spain in the mid-eighteenth century. This new style called majismo affected to imposed
discourse and to the female conception in Ancient Regime.
It is described the perspective of analysed used, the type of sources which help to study fashion
history, the limitations and problems of the research and the contributions or results obtained
through the study
