Abstract
Photosynthesis is a process in which autotrophic organisms produce an organic substance from carbon dioxide taken from the atmosphere or water. This is a very complex process and can be divided into several separate reactions. Beside on the mainland, it takes place in the sea as well. The photosynthesis process is important for all living beings because of the oxygen production that is necessary for the survival of most living organisms. Except as a source of energy, photosynthesis of marine organisms is important for removing excess carbon dioxide, which, besides other gases, is credited with the "greenhouse effect" from the atmosphere
