У овом раду анализирају се идеје Истока и Запада у ангажованим и
политичким делима Ф. М. Достојевског (Записи из подземља, Зли дуси), И.
Андрића (Травничка хроника), О. Памука (Снег) и Џ. М. Куција (Елизабет
Костело, Мајстор из Петрограда).
Ангажовани и политички романи ових књижевника показују да уметност
није тек естетска игра, већ осмишљавање историјско-идеолошко-политичке
културе. У том светлу, њихови романи нису аутономни. Идеје Истока и Запада у
делима Достојевског, Андрића, Памука и Куција непрекидно прелазе из
политичког у естетско, односно из идеолошке несамосталности у естетску
самосталност. Аутори их преузимају из друштвено-политичке стварности,
разматрају их у међусобном интертекстуалном дијалогу, као и у дијалогу са
делима других књижевника, а онда им дају нова значења у оквиру свог
аутентичног доживљаја стварности и јединственог уметничког искуства. Проза наведених писаца дубоко је одређена логиком бинарних опозиција
Исток – Запад. То се пре свега односи на тематско-мотивски слој романа,
књижевне јунаке, али и на наративне дискурсе. На идејно-садржинском плану,
идеје Истока и Запада у делима ових писаца постају координате филозофске,
религијске, етичке и естетичке мапе.
Овај рад стога има за циљ да пружи главне координате у приступу теми
сукоба идеја Истока и Запада у ангажованој и политичкој уметничкој прози
поменутих писаца. У раду ће се размотрити друштвено-политички контекст у
којима су се ове идеје појавиле у срединама из којих су писци потекли; потом ће
се сагледати како су се те идеје одразиле на интелектуалну мисао самих
књижевника; на крају, анализом књижевних остварења ових писаца, сагледаће се како су идеологеме Исток и Запад означене у њиховим делима и шта је исходиште
њиховог сукоба у уметничком дискурсу.In this paper, the author analyzes the ideas of the East and the West in the
politically committed works of F. M. Dostoyevsky (Notes from Underground, The
Possessed, I. Andrić (Bosnian Chronicle), O. Pamuk (Snow) and J. M. Coetzee
(Elizabeth Costello, The Master of Petersburg).
These writers’ politically committed novels show that art is not merely a game
of aesthetics but also a conceptualization of a culture – a historical, ideological and
political one. In that light, their novels are not autonomous. The ideas of the East and
the West in the works of Dostoyevsky, Andrić, Pamuk and Coetzee constantly shift
from the political sphere to the aesthetic one, i.e. from ideological dependence to
aesthetic independence. The authors appropriate these ideas from the social and political
reality, consider them within an intertextual dialogue, as well as within a dialogue with
works of other writers, and subsequently give them new meanings within the framework
of their own authentic experience of reality and their unique artistic experience. The prose of the above mentioned writers is deeply defined by the logic of
binary oppositions East – West. This refers, above all, to the themes and the motifs of
these novels, to the literary characters, but also to the narrative discourses. On the level
of ideas and content, the ideas of the East and the West in the works of these writers
become the coordinates of a philosophical, religious, ethical and aesthetic map.
Therefore, the goal of this paper is to present main coordinates to the approach
to the topic of the conflict of ideas of the East and the West in the politically committed
prose of the aforementioned writers. The paper will consider the social and political
context in which these ideas appeared in the surroundings from which the writers came
from; then, it will contemplate on how these ideas reflected on the intellectual views of
the writers themselves; finally, analyzing the literary works of these authors, it will
envision how the idelogemes “East” and “West” are marked in their works and what is
the origin of their conflict in the artistic discourse
