Истраживању феномена средњовековних владарских канцеларија на
Балкану у досадашњој историографији југоисточне Европе није посвећивана
велика пажња, а то се односи и на канцеларије и писарске службе које су деловале
на простору Босне. Темељне студије Станоја Станојевића и Грегора Чремошника,
посвећене унутрашњим, односно спољашњим обележјима босанских исправа,
нису настале на потпуном корпусу докумената, а у методолошком смислу су се
заснивале пре свега на анализи. Синтетички моменат је изостао, чиме је створен
простор за нов приступ истраживању у коме је посебна пажња посвећена и самим
канцеларијама и делатницима који су у њима радили, а не искључиво њиховим
производима. Ревизијом анализа које су извршили досадашњи истраживачи,
исправљене су неке погрешке и учињене извесне допуне. Најзад, кроз разматрање
појединих обележја докумената и њихово повезивање у одговарајуће целине и
обрасце, могли смо, у извесној мери, стећи увид у ширу дипломатичку праксу у
средњовековној Босни. Услед ограниченог спектра података, неки закључци су
остали хипотетички, а синтетички приступ није могао бити у сваком погледу
доследно спроведен.
Уводним освртом на карактеристике корпуса босанских владарских
исправа, утврђене су његове предности и недостаци. Међу предностима се истиче
релативно уједначена заступљеност докумената различитих личности и породица
које су имале владарски капацитет, велик проценат оригиналних докумената и
разноврсност по питању наменских образаца и коришћених језика. Са друге
стране, основну мањкавост представља чињеница да скоро 75% корпуса чине
документи издати јадранским комунама, пре свега Дубровнику. Уз то, и
хронолошка дистрибуција није најподеснија за квалитетну анализу јер око две
трећине докумената потиче из XV века. Међутим, имајући све наведено у виду,
закључено је да постоји простор за доношење закључака на основу доступног
узорка који се састоји од 402 јединице.
У целини посвећеној делатности босанских владарских канцеларија,
разматрана су питања природе ових установа, степена њихове организованости и
узора који су утицали на њихов рад. Утврђено је да се најчешће није радило о
високо бирократизованим и хијерархизованих установама крутог устројства, већ о
писарским службама које је чинио ограничен број људи различитог образовног
степена. Неки од њих су писали само словенске, неки само латинске исправе, а
тек мали број најученијих писара састављао је документе на оба језика...The historiography of South-Eastern Europe has not so far devoted much
attention to the study of the phenomenon of medieval royal chanceries in the Balkans.
This general statement also applies to the chanceries and scribal services in Bosnia. The
fundamental works of Stanoje Stanojević and Gregor Čremošnik, dedicated to the
internal or external features of Bosnian charters and letters, did not consult the full
corpus of documents, and, in terms of methodology, centered primarily on analysis.
This absence of the synthetic element left the way open for a new approach to the
subject, devoting special attention to the chanceries and their staff, and not only to their
products. A revision of the analyses performed by earlier researchers resulted in
correction and supplementation of their results. Finally, by exploring individual features
of the documents and sorting them into corresponding entities and patterns, it proved
possible to gain some insight into the broader diplomatic practice of medieval Bosnia.
Due to the limited spectrum of sources, some conclusions remain hypothetical, and the
synthetic approach could not be consistently implemented in all respects.
The introductory overview of the corpus of Bosnian rulers’ documents serves to
point out its advantages and disadvantages. A relatively good balance between the
documents of different personalities and families that had a ruling capacity, a high
percentage of originals and a diversity in document types and languages used are among
the principle advantages. On the other hand, the main disadvantage is the fact that
almost 75% of the corpus consists of documents issued to the Adriatic communes,
especially to Dubrovnik. In addition, the chronological distribution is not particularly
suitable for qualitative analysis because about two-thirds of the documents date from the
fifteenth century. However, keeping all this in mind, it was found that the available
sample, comprising 402 units, provides a sufficient basis for drawing conclusions.
The part of the dissertation dedicated to the activity of Bosnian rulers’
chanceries discusses the nature of these institutions, their level of organization and
models that influenced their work. It is established that, for most of the time, they were
not highly bureaucratized institutions with rigid hierarchy, but rather scribal services,
employing a limited number of people with various educational levels. Some of them
wrote only Slavic documents, some only Latin, and just a small number of the most
learned scribes produced charters and letters in both languages..
