Abstract
Speleological objects in National park Kornati are mostly consisted of smaller caves formed by the process of speleogenesis in karst. The dominant features are anchialine caves, sea caves and caves without water. In caves that have been investigated so far, there are many different troglo/stygobitic, troglo/stygophilic, and troglo/stygoxenic invertebrate species as well as bats. Most of the collected fauna are trogloxenes, because most caves are small and environmental factors outside the cave have a really big impact inside as well. Because there are many islands in the national park that are far from mainland and because cave habitats are very specific, some new and endemic species have been discovered. This paper deals with the analysis of speleological and biospeleological research that has been conducted within NP Kornati so far. It includes descriptions of the speleological objects and the fauna found inside. Research in NP Kornati is still ongoing , so more caves and more species are likely to be discovered
