Preservation of underground habitats and fauna

Abstract

Republika Hrvatska obiluje raznim svojtama i rodovima relikata i endema koje je u novije vrijeme sve više i više potrebno zaštititi. Sve je više raznih aktivnosti koje direktno, ali i indirektno utječu na život u podzemlju. U ovom radu naglasak je stavljen na bogatstvo i vrijednost koju imamo u podzemlju i koja se proteže kroz čitavu Hrvatsku. Spomenuti su krajevi kojima u današnje vrijeme prijeti velika opasnost od razno raznih zagađenja i ostalih aktivnosti koji za posljedicu imaju uništenje spomenutog bogatstva. Važno je upozoriti stanovništvo na aktivnosti koje se događaju i educirati ih koje sve negativne posljedice te aktivnosti imaju. Također, u radu su i spomenuti načini na koje možemo poboljšati opće stanje podzemnih staništa i kako ih očuvati za buduće generacije jer podzemlje nosi toliko vrijedan život i toliko vrijedne resurse kojih mnogi od nas još uvijek nisu svjesni.The Republic of Croatia abounds in various species and genera relics and endemic species, which in recent times, needs to be protected even more and more. There are more different kind activities that directly or indirectly affect the underworld. In this paper emphasis is placed on the richness and value we have in the underworld that stretches throughout Croatia. There are mentioned the areas that today are threatened by a great danger of various pollution and other activities that result in the destruction of this richness. It is important to alert the population to the activities which are happening and to educate them about the negative consequences of these activities. In addition, on this paper are also mentioned ways how we can improve general condition of underground habitats and how can we preserve them for future generations because underground carries such a valuable life and such valuable resources which many of us are still not aware of
