Abstract

The emergence of production networks is aided by the penetration of new markets, by acquisitions and cooperation projects. To ensure competitiveness the networks have to be continuously adjusted. This requires a clear and individual target system as well as the selection of suitable optimization methods. This paper compares existing optimization approaches supporting network configuration. From a strategic network perspective, manufacturing companies are enabled to make a pre-selection of optimization approaches
