The context of this essay is a research done in Andalusia, as part of the official
announcement of the 2004-2007 R&D National Plan to analyse the introduction of free
software in the Andalusian ICT centres and its repercussions in the teaching-learning
processes. This research is done in an educational reality that progressively has been
consolidated in the whole country and also in all the developed countries in the world.
