Abstract

Study of combined use of methylprednisolone with citicoline to processes of energy providing of mitochondria to cortical neurons of the brain and histomorphometric indicators of its formation in the conditions of multiple sclerosis in the experiment. Annotation. The paper presents the analysis of the pharmacological effect of methylprednisolone with citicoline to neuroprotective processes of energy providing of mitochondria of neurons of the cerebral cortex and histomorphometric indices in experimental allergic encephalomyelitis. Comprehensive introduction of the drug has a significant effect on the mitochondrial dysfunction (reduction in speed of opening of mitochondrial pores, increasing the charge of the inner membrane) and energy metabolism of the brain (increased levels of ATP and ADP, reduced lactate, pyruvate, and increase in isocitrate). The combined use of methylprednisolone with citicoline limit unproductive activity of anaerobic glycolysis and increases the aerobic reaction
