Ilmu Komunikasi Progran Non Reguler Fakultas Ilmu Sosial dan Ilmu Politik Universitas Sebelas Maret Surakarta, 2009. The development of mass media industry has been progressing in latest years. There is no doubt about the advantage of television among the others media. Television stations compete to give the best for their audiance. That's also influented by many of audiance's need. The crime news program being one of media response to fill their audiences needs. Sergap in RCTI and Buser in SCTV are two crime news program that audience loved. This research use ”Uses and Gratifications” theory and intend to discover the Discrepancy between Gratification Sought (GS) and Gratification Obtained (GO) of audiences experience after using the media Sergap (RCTI) and Buser (SCTV). This research is a descriptive kuantitative research that is using survey methode which the primary data obtained by distribute questioners to the respondents. The population in this research is students of Fakultas Hukum Universitas Sebelas Maret year 2005 until 2007. Based on the data, from six need in GS and GO, proved that there is gratification Discrepancy towards Sergap (RCTI) and Buser (SCTV). From the calculation of hole discrepancy, Sergap (RCTI) has discrepancy as much as 57.96% and ability to give satisfaction as much as 42.04%. Whereas Buser (SCTV) has discrepancy as much as 56.82% and ability to give satisfaction as much as 43.18. The number of ability in giving satisfaction from both media shows that ther is no differences in ability in giving satisfaction between them
