У статті досліджується феноме6н пограниччя як соціокультурний феномен. Висвітлюються історія вивчення кордонів і пограниччя. Розглянуто концептуалізацію феномену пограниччя, визначено його соціокультурну специфіку та динаміку. первинні напрямки діяльності та головні завдання відновленої організації. Встановлено, що пограниччя є певним регіоном з соціальною, культурною, економічною, політичною специфікою та дуже багатоманітним феноменом. З’ясовано, що поліваріантність пограниччя визначається характером кордону.
