In the bachelor of science degree thesis we deal with the design and estimate of energy efficiency of
three terraced houses, which will be built in Portorož. Content of the thesis is divided into two parts.
The first part deals with the static design of the building in such a way that it would be useful for
future construction permit. Although the architectural design of the terraced houses is not considered
as part of the subject, we are trying to find a functional and rational design to exploit space. The static
design complies with the applicable European standards (Eurocodes).We use application softwares
SAP 2000 (Computers & Structures, INC.) for static analysys and ArmCAD (Radimpex) to prepare
concrete reinforcement plans.
In the second part of the thesis we carried out an analysis of the total energy required for the operation
of row houses. Let's focus on the need for energy for heating, cooling, domestic hot water and lighting
interior spaces. Starting from the requirements of regulations on energy efficiency in buildings
(PURES 2010) and then through the analysis of costing the cost of whole life cycle of the facility is
calculated optimum insulation thickness
