The aim of my diploma work is to find out about the possibilities of the spatial development of Muljava settlement and make a proposal for its regulation. The work consists of a theoretical and a practical part. The theoretical part presents the characteristics of the Slovene countryside, starting points for the countryside planning, rules and regulations and the role of our cultural heritage in the countryside planning . The practical part concentrates on the presentations of the Municipality of Ivančna Gorica and Muljava, a small village in this municipality. These are followed by the results of a survey carried out among the inhabitants of Muljava and a detailed spatial analysis of this settlement, shown on a map with a scale of 1: 3500. In addition to this, there are analyses of the relief, the land use, the purpose and functionality of buildings in the settlement, the ridge direction pattern, the type of roof tiles, the traffic infrastructure, as well as the morphological and visual analysis. In the last part, we have presented a proposal for the regulation of the settlement on the basis of the survey findings and added some guidelines on populating this area, the development of traffic, sport, recreation and additional possibilities of tourism expansion
