The aim of this diploma thesis is a test of different algorithms for analysing geomorphological\ud
characteristics of surface as for instance ridges, valleys and peaks. Using local window of\ud
dimension 3 by 3 or more cells, which is moving over whole the DTM matrix, defined\ud
operation has been executed, for example operation with the Laplace filter. Techniques of\ud
mapping geomorphological characteristics have been researched, which are based on using\ud
high pass filters and local determination of extreme values. Another option is classifying\ud
values from temporary local window and calculating elevation histogram. With the analysis of\ud
a histogram shape and approximating different mathematical curves, advanced surface shapes\ud
can be determined. Different resolutions of DTM in the study area of Kamnik Alps in\ud
Slovenia have been used in this work
