In this paper, a new integral register is represented which will serve as an expert ground for\ud
spatial planners and local communities in the future, in order to achieve an effective\ud
introduction of land planning policy to local community areas. The Register of Road Legal\ud
and Spatial Governance was established by The Surveying and Mapping Authority of the\ud
Republic of Slovenia between 2005 and 2007.\ud
This paper presents the setting up of The Register of Road Legal and Spatial Governance, as\ud
well as a suggested method for managing it. Prior to setting up the Register, all existing data\ud
on public roads in public records and auxiliary sources must be overviewed. The basic\ud
characteristic of public records and examples of its use as an expert basis is also presented
