For B.S. thesis, we researched the geographic information system (GIS) used in emergency\ud
management support during 112 calls. Initially, the existing information systems used in the\ud
regional emergency management centers and their connections into the SPU112 system are\ud
introduced. On the basis of the chosen GIS, we introduce the manner of the emergency\ud
management measures taken during the accident notification received at the regional\ud
emergency management center. The following topics are addressed: data and metadata stored\ud
within the GIS database, the ability to display the location of the caller, the selection of the\ud
action plan depending on the type of accident and the location of the accident, and the\ud
determination of the type of rescue units responsible for the rescue at the accident location. In\ud
addition, further possibilities for the use of GIS in emergency management and directions for\ud
development are also indicated
