/Summary The first part of the diploma presents theoretical and historical grounds for town development, spatial planning principles applied in Slovenia in particular. A comparison with spatial planning principles applied in other EU countries follows, along with the description of the division of spatial planning documents by ZPNačrt. A detailed municipal spatial plan (DMSP) is described as the lowest level of the spatial planning of a local importance. In continuation, provided is the description of land operations ending with a land readjustment process. The land readjustment by contract is described in greater detail. The practical part of the diploma is dedicated to the generation of a proposal for residential area layout settlement along Raičeva road in Ormož. It is the area for which a workshop on urban and architectural planning was organised with the aim of providing professional solutions with the possibility of subsequent improvement. A broader analysis of the existing state of the area was performed as well. In the conclusion, a proposal for the urban (layout) settlement of the aforementioned area is presented. Added is the corresponding proposal for land readjustment by contract so as to facilitate the realisation of the area urban settlement
