Evaluasi Rasionalitas Penggunaan Antibiotik Profilaksis Pada Pasien Bedah Tulang Fraktur Terbuka Ekstremitas Bawah Di Rumah Sakit Ortopedi Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Surakarta Tahun 2017
Fractures become the third leading cause of death after coronary heart disease and tuberculosis in Indonesia. Use of antibiotics is important in reducing morbidity and mortality. Prophylactic antibiotics may be used to prevent infection by 1-5%.Prophylactic antibiotics were antibiotics administered before, during, even up to 24 hours after surgery with the aim of preventing wound infections. . The use of prophylactic antibiotics other than appropriate in the selection of species should also consider the concentration of antibiotics in the tissue at the time of start up to surgery performed. The purpose of this study was to calculate and establish the rationality of the use of prophylactic antibiotics in surgical patients with open fractures at Prof. Dr. R. Soeharso Orthopedic Hospital, Surakarta in 2017 according to right indication, right patient, right drug, right dosage and right administration time. This research was a non-experimental research. The data collection was conducted retrospectively from medical record data with prophylactic antibiotic usage data in surgical patients with open fracture using purposive sampling method and descriptive analysis. The inclusion criteria in this research were inpatient patients who were diagnosed with open fractures and received prophylactic antibiotic therapy in the period of 2017 with complete medical record data. The analysis results showed that the rationality of the use of prophylactic antibiotics obtained was 100% right indication, 100% right patient, 94,63% right drug, 94,63% right dosage, 100% right time administration and rationality 94,63
