This study aims to describe 1. Implementation, 2. Obstacles, and 3. Follow-up of academic supervision of principal in the development of professional competence of teachers in SD Negeri Gebang 3. This research uses qualitative research methods. Technique of collecting data is done by interview, observation, and documentation. Data analysis techniques use interactive techniques. Data validity using triangulation technique. The results showed that: 1. Implementation of principal academic supervision in the guidance of professional competence of teachers include a. The purpose of academic supervision is 1) to see the success of teachers in implementing the implementation plan of learning, 2) to provide guidance to teachers so that the quality of teachers can develop, b. The scope of academic supervision includes 1) Preparation, 2) implementation, and 3) assessment of learning by teachers, c. Instruments used are 1) RPP observation sheets, 2) learning process, and 3) book of clinical supervision, d. Indicators of professional competence of teachers are 1) mastery of the taught structure / maple, 2) understand the curriculum, syllabus, and RPP maple taught. e. The technique used is individual by doing a. Initial stage, b. Stage of class observation. 3. Obstacles encountered in the implementation of principal academic supervision to improve the professional competence of teachers include a. The principal feels uneasy, b. The principal sometimes has a sudden meeting, c. Lack of preparation in preparing lesson plans. 4. Follow up principal supervision of principal in guidance of professional competence of teacher in covering a. Follow-up with coaching by the principal by giving inputs and motivating the teacher, b. Follow-up KKG once a month in the last week
