Why is it important and how promising today to study the patriotic moods of the youth of Russia? This is one of the most acute issues that the authors of this collection have set themselves. Is it possible, in principle, with the help of an analytical apparatus and reliance on data from sociological studies of youth daily life, to present a general context for the new Russian / Russian patriotism? Interpretations of the concept itself, its meanings and connotations are contradictory and heterogeneous. It depends on the individual's cultural and educational experience, family history and parental culture, the characteristics of group communication and, of course, on the patriotic agenda of the state serving the interests of the power of the ideological machine, including official channels for promoting political will. Therefore, the conclusions on this subject will always look partial, subjective and local, and criticism - to nullify any effort
