Stress of a mother who has a child's cerebral palsy caused by negative thoughts on an event that affects physical health, emotions, and social behavior. This study aims to see the effect of thought stopping therapy to reduce the stress of mothers who have children cerebral palsy. The subjects were 5 mothers with cerebral palsy children. This research uses quasi experiment method with one group pretest and posttest design. The measuring tool used is a stress scale made by researchers based on aspects of Sarafino (2011). Thought stopping therapy conducted 3 meetings for 3 weeks. Each meeting is 90-100 minutes adjusted for subject time availability. This study uses data analysis within subjects with wilcoxon test using SPSS 16. The results showed that thought stopping therapy can reduce the stress of mothers who have children cerebral palsy
