ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to know the effect of job training and compensation on the performance of employees of Fire Department of Surakarta City. This research uses primary data. Sample in this research as many as 51 respondents. The sampling technique used is simple random sampling or random sampling. Data analysis techniques used are validity test, reliability test and multiple linear regression analysis with first classical assumption test which includes normality test, multicolinearity test, and heterokedastisity test. By testing hypothesis using partial significance test (t-test) and test of significance together (Test-F) and coefficient of Determination (R2). The result of research shows that job training and compensation give significant influence to the performance improvement of Fire Department Surakarta City Fire is equal to 68.1% and the rest is explained by another variable of 31.9%. Partially compensation gives more dominant influence than job training in improving employee performance. It can be concluded that the staff of Surakarta Fire Department require job training and compensation to improve its performance
