This study aims to describe students' critical thinking skills based on learning styles with visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic categories. The type of research is qualitative. Sebjek research consists of three students for each style of learning in class VII A SMP Muhammadiyah 1 Surakarta. Data collection techniques in this study is a questionnaire technique to find out student learning styles, test
techniques to determine students' critical thinking skills and interviews. The test is executed during the learning and learning process on the linear equation of one variable. The results of the tests and interviews are analyzed based on the critical critical ability indicators as follows: (1) Provide a simple explanation, (2) build basic skills, (3) provide further explanation, (4) skill set strategy and tactics, (5) write conclusions . The results showed that: (1) for indicator 1 visual and kinesthetic students were less able to provide simple explanation, while the
auditorial students were able to give a simple explanation; (2) indicator 2 the visual students were less able to build basic skill while the auditorial and kinesthetic students were able to build a basic skill. (4) indicator 4 all visual, auditorial, and kinesthetic students are able to provide further explanation, (5)indicator 5 visual, auditorial students (3) indicator 3 all students of the three types of learning styles are less able to develop skills in managing strategy and tactics , and kinesthetic is incapable of writing conclusions
