This research is about Lichen Ecology Study as Bioindicator of Air Quality in Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon Kota Surakarta which has been implemented on September 2017 - March 2018. The purpose of this study is to study the ecology of lichen as an air quality bioindicator in Kecamatan Pasar Kliwon Kota Surakarta. This research uses qualitative exploratory research method with purposive sampling sampling technique (exploration of purposive sampling point) and exploration is done by cruising at 2 observation station in main road of Pasar Kliwon Sub-district of Surakarta that is station 1 along Kyai Mojo Road and station 2 in Jalan Kapten Mulyadi. The results obtained were 12 lichen species, Parmelia sp., Parmelia squarrosa (family Parmeliaceae), Dirinaria picta (Physciaceae family), Phlyctis argena (family Phlyctidaceae), Caloplaca sp. (family Caloplacaceae), Lepraria incana, Lepraria sp. (family Stereocaulaceae), Arthonia caesia, Arthonia sp., Cryptothecia effusa (family Arthoniaceae), Graphis glaucescens, Graphis sp. (family Graphidaceae). Observation on Jl. Kyai Mojo showed vehicle volume 19,119 units/hour/2day found 9 species of lichen with lichen colony counted 422 colonies lichen and Jl. Kapten Mulyadi showed a vehicle volume of 21,689 units/hour/2days found 7 species of lichen with lichen colony counted 101 lichen colonies
