Perbedaan Pengaruh Pemberian Latihan Calf Raises dengan Ankle Hops Terhadap Peningkatan Daya Tahan Otot Gastrocnemius pada Pemain Bulutangkis

Abstract

Background: Badminton is a sport that in the game using a racket. In addition to using upper extremity limbs, badminton players must also rely on the limbs of the lower extremities to reach the shuttlecock coming from the opposite direction. The ankle region is strongly associated with the gastrocnemius or calf muscles. Gastrocnemius muscle plays a role in supporting the occurrence of jumping smash and dropshot. Badminton players also require components of the physical conditions in the lower extremities, such as endurance in order to support footwork to reach and restore the shuttlecock. Objective: The purpose of this study was to investigate the difference of effect of calf raises training with ankle hops exercise on increasing endurance of gastrocnemius muscle. Method: This research uses quasi experimental approach and with pre test design and post test two group design. This study has two groups, group 1 is given calf raises training and group 2 is given ankle hops training. Test statistics of normality using Shapiro Wilk Test. Each group used a Paired Sample t-Test and tested different effects using the Independent Sample t-Test. Results: Based on statistical tests that researchers have done, the results show that there is a difference in the effect of calf raises and ankle hops exercises on improving gastrocnemius muscle endurance. The effect test using Paired Sample t-Test in group 1 was obtained p = 0,000 (p <0,05) and in group 2 obtained p = 0,000 (p <0,05). While difference test of influence using Independent Sample t-Test obtained result 0,005 (p <0,05). Conclusion: Based on the results of research that has been obtained, it can be concluded that there is a difference effect of influence calf raises exercise with ankle hops to increased endurance muscle gastrocnemius on badminton players
