Kurzzusammenfassung  Das Ziel dieser Arbeit war die Darstellung, kristallographische Charakterisierung und weitere Untersuchung neuer Seltenerdcarboxylate sowie heterobimetallischer Carboxylate der Seltenerd- und 3d-Metalle. Besonderes Interesse galt hierbei den thermischen, optischen und magnetischen Eigenschaften der Verbindungen. Eingesetzt wurden neben Essigsäure auch Propion-, Butter-, Isobutter-, Benzoe- und Mellitsäure. Die Synthesen wurden ausschließlich ausgehend von den jeweiligen Metallpulvern und den wasserfreien Säuren durchgeführt. Säuren und Metall wurden nicht nur in evakuierten Duranglasampullen erhitzt, sondern auch im Säureüberschuss in Autoklaven sowie in Bechergläsern. Letztere Ansätze wurden in einem Sandbad getempert, die Ansätze aus den Duranglasampullen wurden unter Stickstoffatmosphäre in einer Handschuhbox aufbewahrt. Auf diese Weise konnte gezeigt werden, dass gleiche Verbindungen auf verschiedenen Synthesewegen dargestellt werden können. Allen Synthesewegen ist jedoch das Reaktionsprinzip gleich, trifft doch eine Liebigsäure auf ein Metall, so dass unter Freisetzung elementaren Wasserstoffs ein Metallcarboxylat (Salz) entsteht. Im Bereich der Seltenerdacetate konnten vier Kristallstrukturen wasser- und säurehaltiger Verbindungen bestimmt werden, die bisherige Strukturtypen bestätigen. Ebenso wurden neunzehn heterobimetallische Acetathydrate der Seltenerdmetalle und des Mangans bzw. Kobalts kristallographisch charakterisiert. Es konnten so zwei ebenfalls bekannte Strukturtypen bestätigt und insbesondere im Fall von [R2T(OAc)8(H2O)2](HOAc)2, R = Sm, Eu-Lu, T = Co, Mn ausführlich beschrieben werden. Nicht minder typenreich zeigt sich das Feld der Propionate der Seltenerdmetalle. Hier konnte der trikline R(OPr)3(HOPr)-Strukturtyp bestätigt und um drei weitere Strukturtypen ergänzt werden, so dass nun das an die Koordinationszahl gekoppelte Auftreten der einzelnen Strukturtypen für alle Seltenerdmetalle beschrieben werden kann. Mit R2Mn(OBu)7,              R = Dy-Lu, Y konnte eine neue Verbindungsklasse heterobimetallischer Seltenerd-Mangan-butyrate kristallographisch sowie thermisch und magnetisch charakterisiert werden.  Besonders auffällig ist hier das Auftreten einer dreidimensionalen Netzwerkstruktur, die bisher nur bei den wasserfreien Seltenerdacetaten von La-Pr beobachtet werden konnte. Europiumisobutyrat kristallisiert in einem ebenfalls unbekannten Strukturtyp, der sich wiederum durch eine Kettenstruktur auszeichnet. Der monokline Seltenerd(III)-benzoattyp konnte auch für Europium bestätigt werden.    Abstract    The preoccupations of this thesis were the synthesis, crystallographic characterisation and further investigation of new rare earth metall carboxylates and bimetallic carboxylates of rare earth and 3d elements. Special interest was applied on the thermal, optic and magnetic properties of the new carboxylates. Mellitic, benzoic, isobutyric, butyric and propionic acid were also used beside acetic acid. The syntheses were started from the metal powder and the anhydrous acids. Both were heated not only in sealed evacuated glas ampoules, but also in an access of acid in autoclave vessels or simply in beakers. Solutions, that were preparated under atmospheric conditions were tempered in a sand bath until crystall growth started. Solutions, preparated under vacuum conditions were kept in a dry box. In this manner it could be shown that all three routes lead to the same compounds. Common to all synthesis routes is the principle reaction that occours. A Liebig acid and a metal react under formation of hydrogen gas to leave a salt. Four new rare earth metal acetates can be presented, containing further acid or water molecules next to aceate anions. Those structures confirm formerly presented results. Already known structure types of the rare earth metal propionates could also be confirmed as three new ones could be introduced. Now there is a good image on how the structure types are distributed over the metals. Depending on the cation size the coordination number decreases leading to structural changes. Additional to this compounds 26 new heterobimetallic carboxylates of rare earth and 3d metals could be crystallographically characterised. Known structural types of the rare earth and 3d metal acetate hydrates and hydroaceates were amended by 19 of those compounds. A large number of DTA/TG-measurements could be done to proof the formation of ternery oxides of the used metals. The new heterobimetallic rare earth metall manganese butyrate structure type was synthisized. It impresses by the formation of a complicated 3d network structure. Furthermore a new europium isobutyrate hydroisobutyrate and solvent free europium(III) benzoate are presented. The large number of new compounds in combination with earlier presented results gives us the possibillity to understand the rare earth (and 3d) metal carboxylates much better than before.
