This paper focus on a category of lead artifacts, traditionally called “bolle dei lanai”, and on lead tokens connected to fore stated on archaeological evidences. These objects, usually found in large
quantities in the Venetian lagoon and in numerous sites along the river system in Veneto, were certainly connected with transportation, with storage for sanitary and commercial purposes and with commerce of goods, among which the items certainly included wool, cotton and fabrics from Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean
