The aims of the research were to understand the influence of harvest area and labor toward the rice production in Indonesia (2007-2011). The data used in the research were time series and cross section data (secondary data) beginning from 2007 until 2011. The data used consist of rice production, harvest area and the number of workers who worked in the sub sector of paddy derived from Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS).
The model used in the research were fixed effect model with cross section weight. The research result obtained that together (F test), harvest area and labor had a significant effect on rice production in all province. This was indicated by the value of Fhitung (18903,25) > Ftabel
(1,6205). Partially, harvest area positive and significant effect on rice productions indicated by the value of |thitung | (39,6022) > ttabel (1,982), while labor positive and not significant effect on rice production indicated by the value of |t hitung | (1,0236) > ttabel (1,982).
