La importància dels fragments d'Antifonari de l'Ofici que publiquem rau en
el fet que poden ser datats en el primer quart del segle X, i que procedeixen de
la catedral de Sant Nazari de Besiers. Són, doncs, el primer testimoni manuscrit
que tenim d'un Antifonari de l'Ofici pertanyent a l'antiga Narbonesa. Ens mostren
també un tipus de llibre litúrgic on les antífones i els responsoris són col.locats
en el lloc que els correspon en la celebració de l'ofici diví, junt amb els inicis
dels himnes de cada festivitat. Vénen a ser doncs un pas important en la
formació dels futurs breviaris.The importance of the studied fragments of an Offices Antiphonary lies in
its probable datation in the first quarter of 10th century, and in its procedence
from Saint Nazarie Cathedral at Beziers. They are, thus, the first written witness
of an Offices Antiphonary belonging to the ancient region of the Narbonensis.
They also show us a kind of liturgical book where antiphons and responsoria
are located in the corresponding places following the order of celebration of the
Divine Office, together with the hymns of every festivity. Thus, they are to be
taken as an important step in the formation of future breviaries
