Purpose: Simplify the installation process for one of the most complete and common free software tools for build and administrate digital repositories for bring disseminate, interchange and preserve information.
Design / methodology / approach: This work use metodology described in “Curso DSPACE para Bibliotecólogos” by Gómez Dueñas Laureano Felipe and “DSpace 5.x Documentation”.
Findings:: This manual shows metodology for DSpace 5.5 installation for Windows 7. However, this metodology works very well in other Dspace and Windows versions and also Unix.
Originality / value: At the moment to write the present work the most recent versión for DSpace is 5.5. However I recommend install version 5.4 in which case metodology is same. The installation process is in Spanish. Present work is an update for that described by Gómez Dueñas Laureano Felipe and has most clarity and detail than described by DSpace documentation
