Southern Cross Soloists 2015 Concert Series: 20th Anniversary Celebrations: Bella Espana, French Revelations, Great Legends

Abstract

QPAC presents Southern Cross Soloists in "Great Legends", a concert featuring the music of Purcell, Mendelssohn, Schubert, Grieg and Beethoven, as well as two world premieres: Elena Kats-Chernin's 'Birthday Vignette', composed for the 20th anniversary of the Southern Cross Soloists, and Joseph Twist's 'Great Minds'. With guest performers Teddy Tahu Rhodes (bass baritone) and Jayson Gillam (piano), the program ranges from the rarified heights of Beethoven's 'Ghost' Trio and Schubert's famous 'Erlkönig' to the folk music of the Celtic people.
