W sercu regionu: śląsko-łużyckie zbiory specjalne dowodem troski o tożsamość użytkowników Biblioteki Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego

Abstract

Wrocław University Library, within its statutory information oriented activities, has always been collecting materials documenting regional heritage. What’s more, from its very beginning the library has also been cataloging and disseminating the records of knowledge on Lower Silesia and its capital. The main goal of this article is to present the collection of the oldest department of the library: Silesian-Lusatian Cabinet, which was started at 1945. The regional character of this collection is the proof of the library’s concern for preserving local identity and for creating and enforcing the identification of its contemporary users, particularly the descendants of post-war repatriates and other displaced people, with the region
