Planificación de nuevo equipamiento de la sala de lectura de la biblioteca de la facultad de Ciencias de la Información de la Universidad Complutense de Madrid
The purpose is to describe the process of restructuring and redesign of the equipment at the Reading Room of the Universidad Complutense Graduate School of Information Science Library. A literature review establishes, on the one hand, the existence of a large number of publications related to the architecture of buildings designed to house libraries and, on the other, the scarcity of literature dealing with the particular concerns of this paper, i.e., library equipment and furniture. Therefore, there is a need to tackle this issue from a practical standpoint based on an analysis of the development of the above-mentioned reading room. In particular, its previous arrangement is described as well as its present layout after the improvements (here the planning of the new infrastructure is outlined) and what provisions there are for the near future
