This paper presents an overview of the Regional Interconnection Network of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, a remarcable element offering a communications and information services infrastructure for the Information Society development. It also describes multimedia broadcasts over the Internet as one of the relevant services supported by this network, both real-time audio broadcasts as well as real-time and deferred audio/video retransmissions for registered users (virtual congresses).
