Pengaruh Kondisi Kerja Fisik, Partisipasi dalam Pengambilan Keputusan dan Kecemasan terhadap Stres Pekerjaan Guru Sekolah Negeri di Kota Jambi

Abstract

This research aims to examine the effect of physical working conditions, participation in decision making and anxiety on occupational stress among teachers in Jambi. Survey method is used to analyse the pattern of causal relationship between those variables. Direct and indirect effects of a set of independent and dependent variables are examined using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). Research data is obtained using questionaire of 358 respondents as sample, include teacher SDN 214 responders, teacher SMPN 88 responders and teacher SMUN 56 responders. The result of research shows that is a negative and significant direct effect of physical working conditions and participation in decision making on anxiety, that is a positive and significant direct effect of anxiety on occupational stress, and that is a negative indirect effect and significant between physical working conditions and participation in decision making to occupational stress through anxiety. This finding brings implication for policy maker to care to occupational stress of teacher by developing stress management policy, gives help service or counseling, training and expansion, measures and supports system to assist all teachers in recognizes cause and impact occupational stress teachers, and takes positive stages to control occupational stress of teacher effectively
