Cancer of the cervix or also called cervical cancer is a malignant tumor that grows
inside the cervix / cervix (the lowest part of the uterus attached to the top of the vagina).
Preliminary study of Klaten health service noted that in 2014 there were 58 positive people
affected by cervical cancer, in 2015 there were recorded 88 positive people affected by cervical
cancer from the results of preliminary studies conducted in polanharjo clinic klaten interview
conducted on 10 women of childbearing age with the results of 7 women fertile ages have not
understood about cervical cancer and IVA benefits and 3 women of childbearing age already
understand about cervical cancer and IVA benefits. The purpose of this study was to determine the
level of knowledge of women of childbearing age about visual inspection of acetic acid (IVA) at
puskesmas polanharjo klaten.
The type of research conducted is descriptive quantitative method that is done with one
goal to make a picture or description of a situation objectively in the form of numbers ranging
from the collection and appearance of the results. The population in this study were all women of
reproductive age aged 16-49 years who came at Polanharjo Klaten health center as many as 50
respondents. Determination of sample data using incidental sampling sampling technique.
Measuring tool with questionnaire with 30 questions.
The result of this research is most of women of childbearing age in puskesmas
polanharjo klaten area is knowledgeable less that is 0 respondent have good knowledge 40%
knowledge enough and 60% knowledge less. The results of research into information for health
workers about efforts to prevent the occurrence of cervical cancer and detect early.
